As part of the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH), two calls for proposals are open until 21 September 2023. Funded by the Horizon Europe programme, the two projects will contribute to setting up the foundations of ECCCH.

Defining, creating and establishing a the ECCCH platform is the aim of the call ‘A European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage’. ECCCH is imagined as an open digital ecosystem that provides the tools and services needed to facilitate and scale-up future research and innovation in the field. The platform should support cross-disciplinary and cross-sectoral collaboration while being simple to use. To ensure that the demands of the future users are taken into account, the governance body of the ECCCH will be composed of cultural heritage specialists from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds.

Connected to that, the call ‘A European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage – Innovative tools for digitising cultural heritage objects’ aims to build and implement novel tools as well as techniques for the digitisation of both visible and non-visible aspects of cultural heritage objects. With these tools, new objects will be added to the ECCCH.

The European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage is an initiative by the European Commission. It is intended to help protect European cultural heritage while answering to the new requirements of a digitized world. The ECCCH promotes cooperation and co-creation among cultural, creative and technological sectors across Europe. In doing that, it will provide practical benefits to all cultural heritage professionals and museums.
