CHARTER Alliance is going to be present in the next European Regions for Smart Communities summit, under Portuguese Presidency of European Union, through our affiliate member, ADRAL – Agência de Desenvolvimento Regional de Alentejo. The summit will be held in Évora (Alentejo, Portugal) and online, between 3 and 9 of May, 2021.
The event will gather local and regional leaders, from across Europe to discuss European and National institutions how to involve the citizens and stakeholders in co-promoting smarter small cities, towns, villages and regions for better tomorrow.
Portugal’s presidency of the Council of the EU goes from 1 January to 30 June 2021. The priorities of Portugal’s presidency are driven by its motto: “Time to deliver: a fair, green and digital recovery“. The presidency programme focuses on five main areas, which are in line with the goals of the EU’s strategic agenda: strengthen Europe’s resilience; promote confidence in the European social model; promote a sustainable recovery; speed up a fair and inclusive digital transition; reaffirm the EU’s role in the world, ensuring that this is based on openness and multilateralism.
The Summit is organised by H2020-AURORAL project led by CCDR Alentejo, with the support from Alentejo Europe Initiative, ADRAL – Regional Development Agency of Alentejo and IrRADIARE Science for Evolution.
