

CHARTER In REGIONS Workshop: Digital Innovation in Cultural Heritage: Skills Needs & Challenges
The Regional Government of Tuscany with the support of the Foundation for Research and Innovation of the University of Florence invites to the next CHARTER in REGIONS Workshop “Digital innovation in cultural heritage: Skills need and challenges”, which will take place from 1-2 December 2022 in Florence (Italy). The CHARTER Regional Workshop is only open to invited stakeholders.
The workshop aims to provide a snapshot of the Tuscany Regional Cultural Heritage ecosystem and to bring together key stakeholders to start a reflection on the challenges and the opportunities provided by the twin transition to the skills in cultural heritage. The assessment of the digital skills gaps and needs in the Cultural Heritage regional ecosystem is strategic to support cultural heritage institutions, stakeholders and policy makers to fully exploit and analyze the opportunities offered by digital technologies also in respect to the Agenda 2030 SDGs.
The “valorization of cultural heritage between tradition and innovation” is a key objective of the regional strategies, an important resource for territorial development and a strong asset of the territorial identity of the region. The “Culture and Cultural Heritage” is one of the areas of application of the technological priorities in Tuscany’s new regional Smart Specialization Strategy which has been recently defined throughout a strong participatory process. Digitalization requires new skills and knowledge and new strategic investments in human capital and competences.
The 2-days Charter regional workshop will be a unique opportunity to deepen future trends and challenges of the digital transformation for a sustainable cultural heritage management. Relevant stakeholders and key regional players will discuss about the new education and jobs needs in the regional ecosystem and will analyze skills gaps and mismatches to preserve heritage, improve citizens and visitor’s fruition of Cultural Heritage, a major resource for the attractiveness and development of Tuscany.
