Conference: Revivals
Revivals occur again and again in the history of decorative arts and design, as various forces look to the past to interpret the present and shape the future. How is heritage used, valued, and reconsidered, from the perspective of artists, designers, or society? Papers presented explore these questions and others, touching on sentiment, materiality, culture, and politics in an effort to expand and interrogate our understandings of revival design.
Because this is an international conference held online, times have been chosen to be accessible to the widest range of ICDAD members. Times are listed in the schedule for Paris (ICOM headquarters) and New York, but please plan to adjust accordingly for your own time zone. Each session is one hour long.
