Entretiens du patrimoine 2023

After a ten-years pause, the French Ministry of Culture is undertaking the return of Entretiens du patrimoine, a major three-day conference which allows all stakeholders in the cultural heritage to debate a question at the heart of their activities.

This place of exchange has often inspired the evolution of public policies and professional practices in France. This exceptional meeting will bring together more than 60 French and foreign specialists and will take place from 28-30 November 2023 in the Claude Lévi-Strauss auditorium of the Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac museum.

All of the interventions will be freely accessible via direct broadcast on the Internet. This year, the chosen theme is that of the restoration of heritage at a time of the double green and digital revolution.

How have the current practices evolved on legislative and doctrinal levels since the end of the Second World War? What techniques and materials were used to make elements inherited from the past into resources of the future by giving them a new life? How does climate change and digital innovations impact on the intervention methods and how can it be considered an opportunity for cultural heritage? Numerous French examples and international concerns in all areas heritage, tangible and intangible, will allow participants to take an interesting critical distance, and sufficient time will be left for debates with the public to further fuel the discussions.
