Europeana Conference/Workshop – Towards recovery: digital capacity building in the Cultural Heritage sector
The COVID-19 crisis has highlighted more than ever the importance of access to digital cultural heritage for the sector, society and the economy. Culture has a valuable contribution to make to Europe’s recovery in a post-pandemic world. The potential of cultural heritage should be used in achieving the ambitions of Europe’s growth strategy, contributing to a digital, green, resilient and inclusive Europe.
The conference, in collaboration with the National Library of Portugal, provides the opportunity to build on the momentum caused by the pandemic to help shape a necessary shared understanding of digital transformation and the base for a common approach to capacity building for the recovery, resilience and sustainability of the cultural sector.
- Understanding capacity building for digital transformation across the European cultural heritage sector.
- Exploring what role Europeana, the European Commission, the cultural heritage institutions, the national policy makers and other key players can play in a common approach to capacity building around policy, institutional development, human capacity, change processes, and sustainability.
